Daw Ohn Thwei’s testimony

Daw Ohn Thwei,59 year old, Buddhist widow is at present staying together with her daughter Ma Thwei Thwei Oo,37 year old divorcee who is pregnant for 8months,and grand children Ma Thet Htar Nwe,17year old, Ma Win Yadana Hlaing,15year old, Mg Thet Paing Lin,9year old, Ma Zin Zin Win,3yrs-5months old, in Phayangasu village,Thanlyin. Ma Thwei Thwei Oo's husband left her for another woman when they were staying in Nyaung Done Township eight months ago and so she came over to live with her mother in Thanlyin. She said that her due date is 15 September; 2008.She is also struggling for her survival by selling fry-noodle & vermicelli around the village.
Daw Ohn Thwei was working as a maid at K. Jar Noo’s home (once a popular singer) in Yangon since her husband passed away on 2006. She also has a son on whom she cannot depend upon as he is married and is struggling to make ends meet himself.
The family is facing a lot of hardships even for their daily bread, as they have no capital and with six mouths to feed and another one is coming soon. On top of that a crisis occurred on the 3rd May, 2008 morning when their house was hit by Cyclone Nargis. The roof and all partitions were blown away by Nargis and their house was almost collapsed. They were all really frightened and had to take shelter in a friend's house that was fortunate to have only the roof blown away.
After the cyclone was over neighbors came to help her rebuilt her house with whatever materials they can salvage but it was not enough for complete the whole house for them. Their nearest neighbor U Aye Kyi and wife Daw Than Nwe who are Christians requested Rev.Andrew of Phayangasu village church for help to assist them in renovating their house. Daw Ohn Thwei said that she really appreciates our assistance and now their family can sleep safely and soundly under the shelter. She also testified that she noticed whenever she was in need; Christians always came to her assistance for help. Even though she was not yet a Christian, she accepted that there is God who is taking care of her through the Christians. She is as a maid in a Christian home till present. They also assist her whenever she needs help. According to her own words, she said," I really appreciate and I'd like to say thanks a lot, that’s the word which comes from deep inside my heart with deepest feelings. I’ll never forget your assistance. That’s all!”
Daw Than Nwe’s Testimony

Daw Than Nwe, 65, and U Aye Kyi who are both Christians lived with their family in Phayangasu village, Thanlyin Township. As a Christian she had trust in God and prayed to God daily. She is a member of Rev. Andrew’s Phayangasu Church. Her husband is working as watch repairer. She said that God is so good for her. On the 3rd May, 2008, Cyclone Nargis hit their house but only the roof and some partitions are blown away. Some neighbors came to her house to take shelter during the Cyclone hit. She said that by the grace of God her house was damaged only a little. She informed Rev. Andrew about her house’s condition and requested assistance to renovate her house and also for her neighbor Daw Ohn Thwei. She said that she was thankful to God and really appreciates our works and assistance given in their area through the church.
Daw Nilar’s Testimony
(25th August, 2008 at Phaya Ngarzu village in the evening. This testimony was written and recorded by Cholay).
Daw Nilar, 53 year old, stays with her family in Phayangasu village. She and her daughter-in-law are Christians but her husband and all the rest of her family are non-believers. She was a disabled after an auto- accident to her legs since 5 years ago. She said that she believe in God and pray to God often. She is also a member of Rev. Andrew’s church as she was baptized by Rev. Andrew. She said that she would like to say thank you for all we have done for her family. She found favour among the other family members who are non-believers as she received food and shelter assistance from the Church which was shared and enjoyed by all family members.
Jesus is truly the good news.
